UTS Cable 55 Accessories

Manufactured to the same ISO standard for Spheroidal Grade cast iron as the UTS Cable 55 Articulated Split Pipe, the Universal Coupling (UC-55) allows the direction of pipe installation to be reversed or for a section of pipe to be replaced following installation.  In addition one pair can be utilised as a Bulk-head Split Flange (e.g. on a Beach Man-hole head wall).  Utilising UTS Cable UC-55 Extensions a submarine cable repair joint (UQJ or UJ-DA) can be similarly protected and secured with 55mm Articulated Pipe at either end for continuous protection in high risk areas.

The UTS Cable 55 Bulk-head Split Flange comprises the same cast units as for a coupling utilised as a pair to form a secure termination between the articulated split pipe and man-hole wall or other similar structure.

With UC Extensions a submarine cable repair joint can be similarly protected and joined to UTS Cable 55 Articulated Split pipe either side.

UTS Cable 55mm Articulated Pipe, and associated couplings and their joint extensions are designed to be secured by A4 (316 marine grade) Stainless Steel M 12 x 50mm bolts and nyloc nuts, see specification sheet which can be downloaded.  These can be supplied by UTS Cable with the pipe and accessories, or the customer can supply directly.  The industry standard for securing the pipe is one pair of fixings to be installed every 5m (10 pairs) of pipe.  However, for beach and dynamic areas, e.g. tidal and surf zones or over shallow reefs, after a risk assessment, many customers elect to install more fixings, often every pair.
