UTS Cable can now offer the 55mm Articulated Pipe coated with KTL-Electrocoat for additional corrosion and in particular SRB protection.
When submarine cables and pipe are installed over acidic seabed areas, e.g. volcanic, they are more susceptible to SRB (Sulphur Reducing Bacteria) attack. Following extensive microbiological laboratory trials over 12 months the Cationic Epoxy Electrocoat POWERCRON 6200HE (also kown as KTL and INELK-052) which is used in the automotive industry, significantly outperformed all other similar coatings trialled for SRB resistance.
